The deceased identified as Charles Twesige, had gone missing on April 19, only for his body to be found 18 days later in Mugunu swamp.

Twesige was caught cheating

New Vision reports that the circumstances surrounding Twesige’s death are suspicious, with preliminary investigations suggesting he may have been murdered.

The late man’s wife, Jenice Giramia, reported him missing after she allegedly found him with another woman in their marital home.

Giramia had gone to work at Mucwa that day and left her husband at home but when she returned she allegedly found him committing adultery and attacked him.

“On the morning of April 19, Giramia the wife of the deceased, went to her place of work at Mucwa, leaving the deceased at home,” regional Police spokesperson Vincent Twesigye told the media.

Husband disappeared from home

In the scuffle that ensued, the other woman managed to escape, but Twesige disappeared later that evening, after which his phone was switched off.

Twesige’s disappearance was made known to the police, upon which investigations commenced immediately.

“The case of disappearance was reported to Police at Butebe Police Post by Giramia under vide SD ref 04/22/04/2023 whereby inquiries were commenced with a view of recovering the victim,” Twesigye continued.

However, it was not until 18 days later that his wife discovered his body in the swamp while fetching water.

Police visited the scene and documented evidence as investigations continue, but no arrests have been made as yet, but preliminary results show the deceased could have been murdered.
