A 29-year-old woman, identified as Comfort Hajia Anura, reportedly died after being attacked by a mentally unstable man in Naka, headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred in January 2026, was confirmed in a social media post by a Facebook user, Ado Benjamin, on Tuesday, March 3.

According to the account, the attacker allegedly struck the victim with a large stick. The suspect was reportedly killed at the scene following the attack.

Burial Arrangements

The late Comfort Hajia Anura is scheduled to be laid to rest on March 7 in her hometown, Tse-Ashwe, Mbabija, Mbachohon, within Gwer-West LGA of Benue State.

The tragic incident has reportedly left residents of the community in shock, with calls for improved attention to mental health issues and public safety measures.
