President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday officially unveiled the new Corporate Headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s ongoing tax system reforms.
The commissioning ceremony also signaled the formal transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service to the newly restructured Nigeria Revenue Service.
In a video shared by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, President Tinubu praised the agency’s performance and declared the building officially open.
Another clip from the event captured the president cutting the ribbon alongside key government officials, including Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen; Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, among other dignitaries.
Following the ribbon-cutting, the president read the commemorative plaque, stating:
“The corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service was commissioned on the 14th day of April 2026 by His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This edifice stands as a lasting symbol of integrity.”
According to Olusegun, the newly commissioned facility features 16 floors across three towers and is designed to accommodate approximately 3,000 employees.
The development forms part of the Tinubu administration’s broader strategy to restructure Nigeria’s tax administration, aimed at improving efficiency, strengthening revenue generation, and modernizing government operations.
