According to the Brazilian newspaper ‘O Globo’, the former president was admitted Monday morning at the AdventHealth Celebration hospital, located on the outskirts of the city of Orlando.

Bolsonaro is reportedly suffering from an intestinal obstruction, according to the diagnosis of the medical team attending him, and for the moment there is no forecast of discharge, so he will remain under observation. Surgical intervention to unblock the area is not ruled out.

The doctor Antonio Macedo, responsible for six surgeries of the ex-president, has already spoken by telephone with the doctors attending Bolsonaro, reports ‘O Globo’.

Bolsonaro was the victim of a stabbing in the abdomen during the 2018 election campaign. Following this attack he has had to undergo up to four surgeries.

However, the former president has suffered several episodes of abdominal pain, for which he has had to be hospitalized on successive occasions, most recently in the middle of last November, when he was admitted to the Armed Forces Hospital in Brasilia.

This latest hospitalization of Bolsonaro comes just one day after hundreds of supporters stormed the seat of state powers in Brasilia, in an episode similar to the one experienced on January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol.
