Madonna bought The Weeknd’s home for a bit less than his asking price.

Hidden Hills home is passing from one A-lister to another. The Weeknd has sold his 13,391-square-foot mansion in the celebrity-filled gated community, and the buyer is none other than Madonna, AD can confirm.

The “Blinding Lights” singer purchased the place in 2017—the same year it was built—for nearly $20 million. The Grammy winner put it on the market for $21.995 million, and the “Material Girl” singer paid $19.3 million. The main home on the property features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a wine room, a bar area, a gym, a theater, a five-car garage, and a full basketball court. There is also a separate two-bedroom, two-bathroom guesthouse, plus outdoor amenities including an infinity pool, a spa, a firepit, and a cabana complete with an outdoor living room.

Photos of the dwelling as it existed under The Weeknd’s ownership are not readily available, but listing photos from around the time he purchased it show that it has a modern farmhouse look. A two-story wall of windows is the focal point of the high-ceilinged entry hall, and numerous terraces throughout create a bright indoor-outdoor feel.

It is not known where the Toronto-born singer (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) plans on living next, but he is reportedly also the owner of a Los Angeles penthouse, and was reportedly renting another penthouse in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood as recently as 2020. As for Madonna, the Grammy-winning mother of six has spent much of her time in recent years at the 18th-century Moorish Revival mansion near Lisbon, Portugal she reportedly purchased in 2017.

The listing agent was Angel Salvador at the Agency. Trevor Wright at the Beverly Hills Estates repped the buyer.
