Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the Eiye confraternity, Sodiq Idowu, and Yusuf Wahab.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Omolola Odutola, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, September 7, 2023, said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off about cult related activities in the Fadahunsi area of the state.
“On the 4th of September, there was an operation led by CSP Adekunle Awoniyi, the Divisional Police Officer of AGBADO DIVISION, in response to a tip-off about cultist activities in the Fadahunsi area of Ogun State,” the statement read.“The prompt response of the police quelled the disturbances caused by the cultists, leading to the arrest of two individuals at the scene: Sodiq Idowu, a 27-year-old male, and Yusuf Wahab, a 25-year-old male“Both suspects have confessed to being members of the EIYE confraternity and have provided valuable information that will aid the police in apprehending other fleeing suspects involved in cultist activities“They have also provided information about the syndicate, the location of their armourer, and the whereabouts of weapons that may have been used in their criminal activities“Currently, preliminary investigations are underway at the Divisional Police Office.
