Ronaldo has asked the Red Devils hierarchy to accept any ‘satisfactory’ offers for his services this summer as he longs for Champions League football.

Unfortunately for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, there seems to be a lack of clubs interested with his only concrete offer coming from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club.

Manchester United need Ten Hag to roll successive double-sixes for them this season

Ronaldo missed United’s pre-season tour because of ‘family reasons’ but he returned to the club last week for talks over his Man Utd future.

The conclusion from those talks was that Ronaldo ‘wants to be released’ despite Man Utd having ‘zero enquiries’ for his services this summer.

Erik ten Hag doesn’t want to sell the 37-year-old with Ronaldo getting his first lot of pre-season minutes during a 1-1 friendly draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Ronaldo played 45 minutes in the fixture but he was seen leaving Old Trafford ten minutes before the final whistle in a sight that has apparently annoyed Man Utd.

The Sun claims that the Premier League club are ‘unimpressed’ by what they call ‘antics’ from Ronaldo during the pre-season friendly match.

Ronaldo stands ‘accused of setting a bad example’ to the rest of the Man Utd squad with the Portugal international’s actions in direct conflict with Ten Hag ‘demanding togetherness’.

Ten Hag and Ronaldo had a tactical conversation during the match in what The Sun call a ‘sideline tiff’ before Ronaldo was subbed off at half-time.

And an insider has told The Sun: “It is not a good look to leave early when you have been involved in the squad. It is different if you are up in the stands and not involved.

“You would expect someone who has played in the game to be in the changing rooms at the end to listen to the manager’s thoughts.

“Also a lot of people were there to see him and he was not even involved in the clapping of the fans after the final whistle.”

Ten Hag is continuing to build up the club structure with the Daily Telegraph claiming that Man Utd ‘are in talks with former England midfielder Tom Huddlestone over a role at the club where he will be playing with the Under-21 team’.

The Red Devils are hoping Huddlestone can fulfill the role vacated by Paul McShane with the club allowed to play an over-aged player in their Premier League 2 matches.

And the Daily Telegraph describe the role as ‘ideal to his situation’ with Huddlestone looking for his first route into coaching after leaving Hull City at the end of last season.
